The EU Continues its Energy Transition: Accelerating the Deployment of Renewable Energies
On September 12, the European Parliament took a major step forward by voting in favor of accelerating the deployment of renewable energy, in line with its commitments to the Green Deal and the REPowerEU plan. This update of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED), already approved by MEPs and the Council, aims to increase the share of renewable energy in the EU's final energy consumption to 42.5% by 2030, with an incentive for Member States to reach 45%. This legislation also reduces permitting times for new renewable energy installations, accelerating the transition to a cleaner energy future. Find out how the EU is working to strengthen its commitment to environmental sustainability while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and fostering innovation in the renewable energy sector.
